PONTIAC NATIONALS 2025

Pontiac Nationals 2025 - Redcliffe QLD

The 2025 Nats is heading a small distance north of our last Queensland Nats we held at Warwick, and because of this the weekend contains quite a few firsts for us. First 1st: The location, it'll be at Redcliffe. First Aussie nats to be held near a big city. Reccliffe is approx 45 minute drive just on the northern side of Brisbane. Second 1st: Due to this location, this will be the 1st Aussie Nats to be held on the coast, literally on the beach front for the car show. Third 1st: When? Due mainly to facilities availability for the event we had to make this change. It will be the first Nats not on Easter weekend. We decided on the Anzac weekend, so April 25th-28th 2025. Anzac day is the Friday so it's a long weekend still. Fourth 1st: Day switch for the event, judging and driving events on the Saturday, and the car show on the Sunday. Fifth 1st: An open car show, all Pontiacs can attend, not just members. As it'll be very close to Brisbane, where there is a few hundred Pontiacs not in the club, an invite will go out to any of them to attend just for the show, free entry of course so should attract a few. The aim of this? Wouldn't it be good if we can make this the biggest Pontiac car show ever outside the USA? It will coincide with the QLD clubs 50th anniversary, another reason we are trying to make this a great and huge event. The Driving events to be held at a real racetrack again, one that is still in operation. We used Morgan Park at Warwick last time. This time its at Lakeside International Raceway, Qld's original Touring car track, it opened in 1961. Judging in the pits for our trophys first up, then some cruise laps for everyone, and then Start straight 1/8th mile timed drag racing for a couple of hours. The reasons for the 1st's/changes will be explained in the next few posts too. So have a look at your long-term planning and do have a good think about attending, we do promise to try our best to make it a great weekend for everyone. Hope that gets your adrenalin pumping, and really hope you are interested in attending. For the latest updates pleace check the QLD Website.
